The Broncos Fountain at Mile High in Denver, Colorado |
|
For the second time Dudi Berretti, who had been asked by Pat Bowlen to follow the project for a large monument to be installed in the new football stadium of Denver, chose the pair Sergio Benvenuti – Ferdinando Marinelli. Following a request of the Stadium Management Co.-Denver Broncos, the project was presented to the Stadium Co.-Denver Broncos itself and to the several District Art Commissions. The monument was fully approved and highly appreciated by all present. In February 2000, in the premises of the F. Marinelli Foundry, Benvenuti started to enlarge the first horse. In June 2000 Dudi Berretti accompanied the representatives of the Stadium Management Co.-Denver Broncos to Florence to allow them to supervise the status of the work being carried out. In January 2001, the first 4 bronze horses were shipped to Houston, from where they would be later transported to Denver. In April 2001, Pat Bowlen came to Florence to meet Sergio Benvenuti once more and to see the last 3 horses prepared by the F. Marinelli Foundry for shipping. His impression was highly favourable. The unveiling took place in August 2001. It’s the most important monument of the city of Denver.
