Born in Carrara, in 1878 he moved to Florence where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Augusto Rivalta. In Florence, he became a great friend of Giovanni Fattori, of which in 1921 he executed the monument for the city of Livorno, cast by Ferdinando Marinelli Artistic Foundry. His work is represented in Germany, Belgium, Argentina, in the Gallery of Modern Art of Milan, etc..
