Mercury by Cellini

The Statue of Perseo was ordered to Celliny by Cosimo I de’ Medici and created between 1545 and 1554. For the four niches of the marble carved base, Cellini created four mythological figures related to the Perseo’s myth. One of them is the Mercury in the gesture of taking off the ground to fly.
