MICHELANGELO ITALIAN SYMBOL IN THE WORLD

It was signed this morning, on a marble block of Querciola’s quarry in Carrara, the agreement that sanctions and strengthens cultural relations between China and Italy. Promoters of this innovative alliance are the historic Ferdinando Marinelli Artistic Foundry and He University of Shenyang. The document concerns the creation of an original size (517 cm.) Michelangelo’s David in White Carrara Marble that will be realized by sculptor Roberto Domina of Studio Bazzanti of Florence. The monumental work will not only be realized through the use of the mould taken from the original Michelangelo’s masterpiece preserved in the Foundry’s Gipsoteca, but they will adopt for the sculpting the same techniques as the great Renaissance master.
