MOULD ON AMMANNATI’S AT THE BARGELLO

In anticipation of the exhibition “Water, stone, fire. Bartolomeo Ammannati Sculptor“, held at the Bargello Museum in 2011, the Directorate of the Museum has commissioned the Marinelli Foundry the delicate execution of the mould on the fountain “for the Great Hall of Palazzo Vecchio”, with the intention to reconstruct the missing parts. The work has been long and complex because was necessary to applying the silicone only in small portions at a time, to let the ancient marble able to ‘breathe’.
