He was born in Livorno in 1881. He was sent as a boy to study in Florence at the Academy of Fine Arts where Augusto Rivalta taught. He began exhibiting in 1908 in Italy, in Paris, in Ghent, etc. He worked for important works in Tripoli, Shanghai, hosted at the Imperial Court in Tokyo where he worked for some time. He has created public works for many eastern cities where he lived, including Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as for South America (Panama, Habana).
