THE ‘WILD BOAR’ HAS BEEN REPAIRED

(October 2011)

The nineteenth century copy of the ‘Porcellino’ by Tacca was replaced in 1998 by a Marinelli posthumous first edition original, because deteriorated from numerous visits of thousands of tourists. The posthumous first edition original cast by Marinelli has also suffered damages: the constant rubbing of the boar snout with hands, has consumed the front part. The Marinelli Foundry intervened in October 2011 on his own initiative, to repair the nose.
