A “PORCELLINO” FOR KASSEL

Since 1952 Kassel (Germany) has been a twin city of Florence, in Tuscany.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of this friendly European bond, a bronze posthumous first edition original of Tacca’s “Porcellino”, cast from the original cast in the Ferdinando Marinelli Artistic Foundry in Florence, has reached Florentin Platz in Kassel.

The fountain was inaugurated on Saturday 10 September by Mayor Christian Geselle and Luca Milani, President of the Chamber of Representatives of Florence; prominent exponents of the German-Italian Society of Kassel were also present, with the Consul General Andrea Esteban Sama.

For the occasion, the group of flag-wavers and some Florentines in historical Renaissance costumes were invited.
