WORKSHOP GHIBERTI

It was organized a workshop in Florence study on the technique of lost-wax casting used in 400’s in Florence by Ghiberti for the casting of the Gate of Paradise panels. For this purpose, the Marinelli Foundry, in collaboration with the National Research Council CNR and the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany has put in place a casting experiment with techniques, refractory materials used in the Renaissance. The experiment has been described in the catalog of the exhibition “The Gates of Paradise – Lorenzo Ghiberti’s Renaissance Masterpiece”
